About Us
The School Story Project was based on the "Brentford 'Til I Die" project. In 2005, the National Literacy Trust, in partnership with the BBC's Reading and Writing project, helped develop a literacy initiative at Brentford Football Club to encourage people to tell their story about why their club was so important to them. Legends Publishing, led by David Lane and lecturer Steve Cowan, helped turn the fans stories into an engaging book that captured the imagination of all that read it.
The National Literacy Trust and Legends Publishing felt the model could be adapted to the school environment telling a school's story through the community's eyes and so the School Story Project evolved.
We have worked in partnership with both state and public schools and within the pages of all our books you will find stories to make you laugh, stories to make you cry, stories to make you think.
Please download and read some of our stories.
